Display user-defined fields
Sometimes the standard data fields in a form are not sufficient to record all the required information. Scopevisio users can therefore create their own user-defined fields. This applies to contacts, tasks, projects, receipts, products and time recording.
We explain more about creating and editing fields in the corresponding system data article.
Showing user-defined fields
We show the procedure using the example of user-defined fields in contacts. This works in the same way in the other forms.
Depending on the form, the user-defined fields are divided into up to three groups, each of which is displayed in the form as a separate business object (GO).
Open a contact and right-click in an empty form area. This calls up the context menu, which gives you the option of displaying user-defined fields.
Under Business objects 1-10 you will find User-defined fields and
the "Other user-defined fields". The third GO can then be found under Business objects 11-20.
Create user-defined fields in the context
In the context menu (right mouse button) of a form, you can use the Create new data fields command to jump to the administration of the user-defined fields of this form(System: User-defined fields).
Further information on creating and editing fields can be found in the corresponding article on system data.
User-defined fields as mandatory entries
If you mark a user-defined field as a mandatory field, you must always display the business object with your user-defined fields when entering contact data and always make the mandatory entries.
If you do not do this, you will not be able to save the form for the contact in question. Your new entries will be lost.
Changes to the user-defined fields are not immediately visible in a contact that is already open, but only when you close and reopen the contact.
