Merge duplicates

Annoying, but not fatal: In most companies, it happens that the same contact is entered into contact management several times. This results in duplicates, which may contain differing or different information. This is a particular problem with imported contacts, because if you create contacts with the same name in Scopevisio, you will be made aware of this.

If there are still duplicates, you can merge them in Scopevisio.

Merging two contacts

Call up your contact overview and select two rows of data that refer to the same contact. Then click on Merge below the overview.

The contents of the two data rows are compared in columns 1 (original) and 2 (duplicate). Matching fields are hidden so that you can only check the differing details and select the correct one. When you are finished, click on Merge.

The contact's links to projects, billing documents, documents etc. are retained - from both original contacts.

Merging several contacts

You can also make mass changes to contacts. The following additional options are available to you in the Action column:

1 prefer adopts the field content of the original; if the original field is empty, the field content of the duplicate is used

2 prefer takes over the field content of the duplicate; if the duplicate field is empty, the field content of the original is inserted

Append 2 to 1: Applies to objects such as comments or emails. The objects from the duplicate are appended to the original.

Append 1 to 2: Applies to objects such as comments or emails. The objects from the original are attached to the duplicate.

Select several lines for multiple editing. If there are conflicts, these must first be resolved before the data records are merged.
