Contact number ranges
The system issues a unique MasterID for contacts, which cannot be edited. On the other hand, you have the option here of defining the number listed as the contact number in the contact file yourself according to your individual specifications.
Open Organization > Master data > Contacts: Edit number ranges for contacts.
Filter on the desired year (1). The sequential number in the selected format is displayed (2); a distinction is made between personal and company contacts. Click on one of the links.
In the next window you have the option of defining the format. A number of combination options are available to you.
In the contact file you will find the contact number with the format you have defined. You can immediately see that this is a personal contact that was newly created in 2022 with the consecutive number 13:
