Production

By production we mean the combination of at least one element to form a new product. To do this, please activate the Production feature.

We are familiar with BOMs in various contexts; in this section, we will focus in particular on the BOM where we require a manufacturing process, can apply a batch number to the target product or must make the stock movement visible on the target product. Our colleagues will be happy to discuss the difference between this and a simple parts list for sets, bundles or similar with you.

By activating this feature, we receive an additional tab on each product

Here you can store the corresponding parts list for production for each product.

Parts lists can be filled manually or uploaded via simple csv for quick and easy data maintenance. This allows you to determine which components the product to be manufactured should consist of. If individual products in your process are only finally defined during the manufacturing process, it makes sense to assign them to the parts list after the final definition.

Please enter all elements (goods or material) that are to be used for this target product here. Labor times or machine capacities that would be necessary for production cannot yet be processed.

Base unit and parts list

Special feature: we can not only process the uniquely selected base unit in the bill of materials in whole numbers or decimals, but can also reference a sub-unit in the product and bill of materials. This helps in the clear and unambiguous structuring of the entire process, as we can always guarantee targeted communication.

Products that consist of a production bill of materials can then already be included in a quotation. By adding the stock price of the individual components and elements of the bill of materials, we already have an indication of costs and revenues when the quotation is created. The quotation can then be converted into an order and we break down the bill of materials according to its individual elements and enable all colleagues involved to make a statement on the supply situation of this order with bill of materials.

In the event of a shortage, we immediately receive an order proposal for all components and elements, based on the total demand that we as a system can know.

At the same time, a production proposal is created with the aim of presenting all your products that we should produce according to the order situation. The order proposal for all components is already based on this calculation so that you do not lose any time due to internal agreements.

This serves to speed up the process of fulfilling all existing orders. If, in the course of the individual processing of an order, the originally created parts list needs to be extended, this is possible.

Production proposals

In the same way as order proposals, production proposals create an overview of which products are currently not yet in stock and therefore need to be produced.

In the production proposal, we refer to the orders, products and quantities to be produced in the Reservations tab. After a check, production proposals can be converted into work orders.

Work orders

following the production proposal as a successor. This is the planned production batch size with the content, produce this product from the currently stored product parts list. Order control shows which elements and components we already have in stock for production, so that any assemblies or sequential work steps to be carried out can be displayed and controlled here. This is done by activating partial picking or partial picking with quantities. The order control system thus indicates which elements are already in stock via the feasibility status. By selecting the corresponding line and executing the partial picking, we generate the picking list, which guides our colleagues in the warehouse to the corresponding storage bin to pick the required product in the necessary quantity. This process can also be controlled in the 2Go apps/warehouse app.

Work orders can be created in the system or sent as an internal document by e-mail to a contact to be defined.

In the status of the work order, parts lists can be changed again and thus technical changes required at short notice can be dealt with without having to reset the work order.

Manufacturing

following the work order. This is the final step in the production of the target product. The booking date is used to determine when the target product is added to the warehouse stock. This means that all current elements and components on the bill of materials are simultaneously and finally posted from the warehouse stock and are included in the target product. Production can serve as partial fulfillment of one or more work orders. We carry out an automatic reconciliation systematically, which can be overwritten.

Note: We do not take into account capacities in the sense of available employees or machines. We ensure the fully dynamic and visible scheduling of all materials, components and elements of a product defined by a bill of materials. Our reservation logic always ensures that all required elements and components are reserved in the warehouse or shown in the order proposal.
